FITCHBURG, MA — Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church celebrated its 2016 Grecian Festival on September 23 and 24. One of the parishes of the Archdiocese of Boston, Holy Trinity is in its 102nd year. Located in Northern Worcester County, the parish is an active one and its festival draws impressive crowds year after year. Ernie Stathis spoke to The National Herald about this year’s festival, noting that, “a wonderful time was had by all.” Attendees enjoyed the traditional favorites, gyros, souvlakia, pastitsio, moussaka, spanakopita, baklava, galaktoboureko, loukoumades, and many other treats. The expanded children’s area provided fun activities for the kids. DJ Markos and his Bouzouki Band from Hartford, CT performed “all day long.” Michael Nelson and Greg Belleza were the Chairmen of the 2016 festival with Phil Stathas and Angelo Roumbakis as Co-chairmen. The Floga dancers performed traditional dances at the festival. All the attendees look forward to next year’s festival.
