Holy Week continues for the Greek Orthodox faithful and all those observing the week leading up to Pascha. The Holy Thursday services of the Sacred Passion and Crucifixion of Our Lord were held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby, PA and churches around the world. The service includes the reading of the Twelve Gospels describing the events leading up to the Crucifixion, known as the Passion of Christ from the Greek word “pathe” or suffering. Father Georgios Kouzelis carried the cross in the procession as Jesus carried His own cross to His Crucifixion. The photos are by Steve Lambrou, a photographer based in the Philadelphia area and a contributor to The National Herald.
