Yamas Mediterranean Street Food in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina adds new twists to fast-casual by letting customers order at the counter and watch the food being readied for them, with most items under $10.
It’s the concept of veteran husband-and-wife restaurateurs Chris and Zoe who also own Cin Cin Burger Bar, Mama Zoe Michael’s, and Waldo’s Wings. They said the name – “To your health” – came first, and then turning to Greek and Mediterranean fare, street-style.
Yamas’ menu is full of such ingredients as tahini, feta, lamb, olives and yogurt, the Winston-Salem Journal said in a review. “She started looking for something healthier than fried food, something fast and casual,” Chris Michael said.
The heart of the menu is sandwiches, salads, and grain bowls. Customers can mix and match ingredients – even exotic ones like harissa yogurt white-chocolate baba ghanoush.
Grand opening today! Come stop by and eat!
