NEW YORK – Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis has been named chair of New York operations for the presidential campaign of Republican Marco Rubio.
“Malliotakis (R-East Shore/Brooklyn) will coordinate support and help secure endorsements for Rubio from other Republican officials in the state,” SI Live reported.
“Washington will never change if we keep electing the same 20th Century leaders with the same 20th Century ideas when it comes to addressing the important issues facing our nation, such as our economy, college debt, national security and immigration. Marco is a generational leader with the vision and plan to meet the unique challenges we are facing and preserve the American Dream. I’m proud to support Marco Rubio for President and look forward to helping him win New York,” Malliotakis said in a press release.
Malliotakis said she met Rubio personally only this past year, but that she has known of the Senator and his politics for a long time.
Both are of Cuban descent, and Malliotakis is also a Greek-American.
The position will be unpaid.
