MADISON, MS – It may seem unlikely deep in the heart of Mississippi – unless you know how Greeks love to cook and open eateries – but in the town of Madison you can find Greek food at Kristos Amerigreek, which also offers American-style plates.
It’s in a Victorian-style building complete with gingerbread trim and a wide front porch. This isn’t your grandmother’s tearoom, a review in the Mississippi Clarion Ledger put it, saying the food “is exactly what you would expect from a bustling Greek restaurant offering a celebration of the palate with a charming combination of Greek and as the name suggests, American cuisine.”
For those who can’t pronounce the Greek treats, such as tzatziki and gyro, reviewer Kara Kimbrough had a simple suggestion: “Just remember these two words: ‘Meatballs, please.’ I promise, you won’t regret it.” Don’t pass it up.
