WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Aleka Vassilia Damiano, age 17 of West Long Branch, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Born in Long Branch, she was a life resident of West Long Branch. Aleka was a senior at Shore Regional High School and received Varsity Letters in both Soccer and Track and Field and was President of the National Honor Society.
She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, the Greek Orthodox Youth of America, St. George GOYA, where she was first runner up in the Miss GOYA Pageant, FCA Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Interact Rotary Club, and the Beacon School Newspaper. Surviving are her parents- Anthony and Frances Tsarouhis Damiano, her sister- Tea Damiano, her papou and yiayia- Vasilios and Filothea Tsarouhis.
The visitation was held on December 3 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1033 West Park Avenue in Ocean Twp. The funeral service was held on December 4 at 1:30 pm at the Church.
