LONG ISLAND CITY – On Wednesday, April 26, at approximately 8:35 in the morning, police responded to a 911 call of a male in medical distress/injured in the water in the vicinity of 43-01 Berrian Boulevard within the confines of the 114th Precinct.
Upon arrival, police discovered a 24-year-old male in the water unconscious and unresponsive. The individual was removed from the water by the FDNY. EMS responded and pronounced the male deceased on scene. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
