LOS ANGELES – On Monday, April 24th at 12:00 P.M., join us as we march for justice! The American Hellenic Council calls upon the Greek-American community of Southern California to join us as we participate in the annual Armenian Genocide March from Pan Pacific Park to the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles.
During the First World War, the Ittahadist-Ottoman Empire organized and carried out a systematic policy of extermination against its indigenous Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian subjects. According to various sources, approximately 3.5 million ethnic Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians perished during this period. April 24th is recognized as the official day of remembrance for the Armenian victims of the Genocide.
Organized by the Armenian Genocide Committee, the AHC is asking all interested Greek and Cypriot Americans to meet at the corner of Beverly Blvd and N. Gardner St at 11:45 A.M. Those interested in participating are asked to RSVP on Facebook or email us at ioannis@americanhellenic.org
