TAMPA BAY, FL – Some of Tampa Bay’s most talented young stars are coming together for the 3rd Annual Greek Orthodox Youth Talent Show. Over 700 tickets have been sold ahead of the much-anticipated production, taking place at Palm Harbor University High School on February 19. Professional musicians will transport the audience to Greece in a spectacular opening act, showcasing traditional music, dance, and costumes from the islands.

“Words can’t describe how I feel when I’m at the piano,” Vacili Courialis said, a USF student who will be performing his own composition at the show.

Courialis is one of over 115 performers from Greek Orthodox churches across the area, including Saint Nicholas in Tarpon Springs, Archangel Michael in Lecanto, Saint George in New Port Richey, and St. Barabara in Sarasota. His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Mayor Chris Alahouzos and other dignitaries will be attending.

“Last year’s show was a marvelous program,” said Presbytera Vosso Rousakis.

“This a very unique event in that all the parishes come together to celebrate their youth and their God given talents,” said Rousakis.

The production takes over a year to prepare, according to Erine Koulianos, Chair and Founder of the event.

“It was inspired to capture the youth within our Orthodox life in a way that perhaps we haven’t yet seen,” Koulianos said.

All of the proceeds from the show will support the Panaghia Chapel building fund at the Diakonia Retreat Center in South Carolina. More information is available via email: goyotalent@yahoo.com
