NEW YORK – The Loukoumi Make A Difference Foundation is inviting theater-lovers to join them for a night on Broadway on Jan. 6 with Orchestra Seats for the play Les Liaisons Dangereuses aka Dangerous Liaisons starring Janet McTeer, Liev Schreiber, and Elena Kampouris, star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 and the recipient of The Loukoumi Make A Difference Award at last June’s Dance Party, making her Broadway debut.

Nick Katsoris, Loukoumi children’s book series author and president of the Loukoumi Foundation, told The National Herald, “the Loukoumi Make A Difference Foundation is thrilled to support Elena Kampouris in her Broadway debut. Last June, we honored Elena at our Loukoumi Dance Party for making a difference in the world not only through her creative talents, but also through her philanthropic work through charities like Autism Speaks. Our Loukoumi Foundation strives to teach children to make a difference in the world, and Elena is a perfect example for them to follow.”

A post-show private reception with Kampouris will be held at Sardi’s Restaurant in Manhattan, just around the corner from the Booth Theatre.

Tickets, available through the Loukoumi Foundation website, were nearly sold out at press time. With a portion of the proceeds, the Loukoumi Foundation will donate books to the Children’s Aid Society for the holidays. A wonderful night at the theatre will also help make the holidays merry for kids in need.

The Donmar Warehouse Production of the play, written by Academy Award-winner Christopher Hampton, wowed audiences in London during its sold-out run and is now on Broadway. With adult themes of sex, revenge, and betrayal, the play is decidedly not for kids.

The running time is two hours and forty-five minutes with one intermission. Les Liaisons Dangereuses is based on the 1782 epistolary novel of the same name by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.

It tells the story of ex-lovers, played by McTeer and Schreiber, who plot to ruin the reputation of an innocent, young aristocrat, played by Kampouris.

Currently running through January 8, the play has received rave reviews. Tony Award-winners McTeer and Schreiber are The January 6 performance offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the play, show support for Greek-American actress Kampouris, and also give back through the Foundation.

More information about the performance and the Foundation is available at loukoumifoundation.org.
